Amount: For fresh horse stalls cover area at least 3-6" thick. For continued useage, spot clean and replenish in small amounts a few times weekly. Hemp bedding is used differently than common alternatives and will continue to absorb urine and will not break down in form, allowing for much longer changes between stripping stalls. For chickens, rabbits, goats and other animals, cover area appropriately and spot clean and replenish twice a week or as needed. Hemp bedding will last in your chicken coop much longer than alternatives and will capture odors deep into its core. Some users prefer to mist or lightly dampen bedding with water to activate its absorption.

Cleaning:
Due to the unique core structure of hemp that makes it so absorbent, hemp bedding will retain its shape when saturated and not turn into muck. This allows easy spot cleaning of soiled areas and replenishing small amounts of bedding without fully stripping stall. You will learn that your hemp bedding will last longer than other alternatives as the material will continue to absorb into its core and maintain a drier outer feel.

Disposal:
Hemp Hurd is tannin free, has a neutral pH and can be composted or worked directly into soil without the composting needed to breakdown acids and tannins like most wood shavings. Hemp bedding can also be disposed of with your normal, everyday waste.
